Louise Frevert is a member of parliament in Denmark, since 2001. She's currently campaigning for being the new mayor of Copenhagen. This week some of her opponents thought it would be a good move to go around and paste pornographic pictures of her on top of her posters around town, which she wasn't too happy about. OK, her past as a porn actress wasn't all that much of a secret, but the public eye had mostly forgotten. And now everybody's talking about it. It isn't a terribly big deal in Denmark, as everybody has a rather relaxed relationship with sex and porn. But it is still interesting to dig up stuff like that. And in this case particularly because it contrasts with her politics. One would expect her to be an openminded, freespirited kind of person, but, ironically, she's running for a very right-wing party, rather hostile towards foreign immigrants, for example. She's been in a bit in trouble with the police for some racist statements. She probably shouldn't have changed her profession, as she was much more fun as a porn star. She's even been in a bunch of movies, and I must admit I have a couple of them on my shelf here. A series of very popular folksy comedies from the 70s, which just happened to be X-rated.
